Calcium stearate is in the shape of white powder, insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as hot benzene, benzene and turpentine, slightly soluble in hot ethanol and ether. It decomposes slowly and is flammable when heated to 400 C. It is decomposed into stearic acid and corresponding calcium salt by strong acid and has hygroscopicity. Calcium stearate are widely used as lubricants, slipping agents, heat-stabilizers, mould releasing agents and accelerants in plastic, machinery engineering, rubber, paints and inks industry etc.

Application

Calcium stearate can be widely used as lubricant for PVC( pvc pipe, pvc profile, pvc cable,etc), PP, PE, Fiber, paint, rubber, color masterbatch.

There are many kinds of additives to be added in the formula design. Even if the lubricant is not specially added to polyolefin, the dispersant added to polyolefin is also a lubricant, which is equivalent to adding lubricant in disguised form.
